On 29 October 2026, the Hessian Drone Competence Centre at Kassel Airport (HDCC) will be taking part in INNODAY26 at the Darmstadtium. Under the motto „Science.Startups.Future!“, the TU Darmstadt innovation fair will bring together more than 100 start-ups and innovation projects.

The HDCC’s work focuses on how drones can support emergency services, protect critical infrastructure and provide assistance in disaster situations. A key aspect of this is the reliable detection and rapid neutralisation of drones that themselves pose a threat. To this end, the centre combines interdisciplinary research, real-world testing at Kassel Airport and training. Working alongside companies, public authorities and infrastructure operators, it develops practical solutions.

At the stand, the HDCC team will be providing insights into their current work and inviting visitors to discuss specific operational requirements and potential joint projects. Whether it’s drone operations, detection or situational awareness: the aim is to foster dialogue with users and forge new partnerships between academia and industry.

As well as the exhibition, INNODAY26 – organised by HIGHEST – features keynote speeches, workshops and start-up pitches. Attendance is free of charge.
